Burr's love of building started at a young age when he would watch his father draw and create structures on paper. His father was a prominent architect in Portland and encouraged Burr to build his projects on paper mentally, meticulously planning step by step construction.

Following in his father's footsteps, Burr studied architecture at Washington State University, consistently making the Dean's list. Two years into the program, Burr's father suddenly passed. Burr moved back to Oregon to be near his family and transferred to Oregon State University, majoring in Construction Engineering.

Graduating OSU with honors, Burr pursued his passion for building and enjoyed 22 successful years in commercial construction. Wanting to be an involved parent, Burr started his construction and renovation company in 2004, specializing in technically challenging and detailed renovations.
